The Volkswagen plant in Emden produces over 163,000 vehicles a year with around 8,000 staff. From 2024 the plant will only produce electric vehicles, ensuring production to state-of-the-art standards. Plant manager Uwe Schwartz is enthusiastic about the advantages of the location:

‘Our infrastructure with immediate access to ports, strong commercial networks and not least the university landscape in the fields of digitalisation and the environment make northern Niedersachsen a region of the future.’
