23.09.2017 26.09.2017 in Barcelona

At World Routes 2017, 23-26 September, Hannover Airport supported by the State of Niedersachsen showcased its advantages as an air travel location.

In recent years, Hannover Airport's presence at World Routes has been drawing the attention of the world’s aviation sector to Niedersachsen, both as an attractive destination for private and business travellers and an important location for the aerospace industry.

Hannover Airport – a strategically important destination

Hannover Airport is the gateway to one of Germany’s principal travel catchment areas. Its round-the-clock operating licence, unique in north Germany, offers airlines, route planners and travellers complete flexibility. With numerous frequent direct connections to European destinations, up to 60 flights an hour and excellent infrastructure, Hannover Airport is at the heart of north Germany’s air routes; overall, Hannover is a crucial mobility and logistics hub for Germany and the whole of Europe.

Location advantages in Niedersachsen

The steadily rising number of private and business travellers from home and abroad signifies growing interest in Niedersachsen and its capital Hannover. Numerous global players such as Volkswagen, TUI, Sennheiser, Continental and Jägermeister conduct their international business from their Niedersachsen headquarters, and Hannover Airport’s excellent connections are a strong positive factor in the Hannover region and Niedersachsen economy.

This year’s World Routes Conference - summing up

In recent years bringing significant new business to Hannover, such as from British Airways and Aegean Airlines, began at World Routes. At this year’s conference in Barcelona, representatives talked with longstanding client airlines and route planners to develop new routes to and from Hannover and highlight the business and tourism potential.

In 2019 Hannover Airport will be the first-ever German host of Routes Europe – special recognition for Niedersachsen and at the same time a tremendous opportunity to welcome the largest European aviation network to Germany for the first time.
