Invitation: Offshore Wind Industry Lunch 2017, ExCel London, Wednesday 7 June 2017, 01:00 pm, Stand N-E20/N-E20

Niedersachsen-Bremen Offshore Wind Industry Lunch with Bremen’s State Counsellor for Environmental Affairs, Ronny Meyer, and Ralf Borchers from the Niedersachsen Ministry for Economics at the WAB Stand.

In conversation with Dr. Markus Tacke of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Andreas Wellbrock of the WAB wind power cluster

Chair: Urs Wahl, Offshore Wind Industry Alliance

The North Sea coast from Emden to Bremen, Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven offers ideal conditions for all areas of the offshore wind power industry: along with numerous component manufacturers, the region offers logistics services from its seaports and made-to-measure development potential for operation and maintenance companies. Moreover, the ‘Forschungsverbund Windenergie’ research association with facilities in Oldenburg, Bremerhaven, Bremen and Hannover provides testing infrastructure and services for all components from foundations to rotor blades.

State Counsellor Ronny Meyer and Ralf Borchers, Head of Department SME, with Dr. Markus Tacke, CEO of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Andreas Wellbrock, CEO of the WAB e.V. wind energy cluster, will discuss the region’s development potential but also imminent challenges for the offshore wind power industry and what solutions the region can offer.

Following the discussion there will be opportunities for an exchange of views and contacts at lunch.
