Africa in Transition – new Export Strategies
Around 300 participants and six top-class Africa experts made this year’s Niedersachsen Foreign Trade Day a resounding success.
The event presented new prospects for current and future export business in Africa; speakers’ presentations gave impressive insights of regional conditions, and participants benefited from multifaceted information, exchanges on best practice, and opportunities for comprehensive networking.
Director for Africa at the German Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Andreas Wenzel was the knowledgeable and energetic chair. Deputy Chair of the NORD/LB board Dr Hinrich Holm, Chair of Deutsche Messe AG Dr Andreas Gruchow, and Niedersachsen’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Employment, Transport and Digitalisation Dr Bernd Althusmann welcomed the guests from the worlds of business, research and media to the NORD/LB forum at Hannover Messe.
Conclusions from the 2018 Niedersachsen Foreign Trade Day
As a market of opportunities Africa needs new, flexible business finance models for both modest and ambitious export projects, along with support for enhancing education and training and improving infrastructure – innovative instruments for successful development cooperation and foreign trade promotion are called for.
You’ll need entrepreneurial resolution and patience to invest in Africa. Work to build long-term partnerships, and take your time. As a local company, keep on your toes, adapt to events, and learn from the people on the ground - and your investment will bear fruit!
